Heng Swee Keat on Jobs Support Scheme

(Updated: )

The Jobs Support Scheme (JSS) was introduced in February this year, and it disbursed more than S$16 billion to over 150,000 employers to support the wages of more than two million local workers. A total S$10.5 billion went to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat gave this update in reply to Parliamentary questions on Friday (Sep 4).

Editor's Note: Mr Heng Swee Keat had said in Parliament that S$15.5 billion went to SMEs under the Jobs Support Scheme. The Ministry of Finance has clarified that the correct figure is S$10.5 billion.
