Police confirmed that he is being investigated in connection with the case.

SINGAPORE: Police confirmed on Saturday (Dec 12) that reports have been lodged against a 17-year-old male Singaporean for making religiously offensive remarks online.

In a news release, police said the teenager is under investigation in connection with the case. No further details were given.

Channel NewsAsia understands this case is related to a blog post by teen blogger Amos Yee on Nov 28, 2015. The post was about former Nominated Member of Parliament, Calvin Cheng, and Islam.

Police said investigations are ongoing and no further details were given.

Yee was convicted in court earlier this year over material he posted online. One was a video deemed insulting to Christians, and the other was an obscene image.
