SINGAPORE: Always wanted to design your own Hello Kitty robot? You can now do so at Robot Kitty, an interactive theme park event coming to Singapore in June.
The event will be held from Jun 11 to Jun 21 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Become an engineer for a day at the Sanrio Robotics Institute, where five interactive gaming “departments” will be set up, each with individual “missions” for engineers-to-be to undertake.
At each of the five departments – Design, Quality Control, Repair, Component and Energy – participants have to perform challenges and tasks to accumulate “koins” using the robot kitty.
For example, at the Repair department, participants will have to revive a malfunctioned robot kitty using a pair of “defibrillators”.
The “koins” can be used to redeem parts and accessories, which can then be used to “dress up” their robot kitty.
On Jun 20, an autograph session will be held for fans to meet the designer of Hello Kitty, Ms Yuko Yamaguchi, in person.
Admission is S$28 for adults, and S$14 for children from 3 to 11 years old and for senior citizens aged 65 and above. Early bird discounts are available from Apr 11 to 21, with adult tickets at S$22 and child and senior citizen tickets at S$11.
Tickets can be purchased at Robot Kitty’s official website and selected retail partner stores.
