SINGAPORE: The body of a woman was found in the waters off the Woodlands Waterfront jetty on Sunday morning (Aug 7) according to police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
Police said they received a call for assistance at about 9.41am. Upon arrival, they found the body floating in the water. The body was retrieved and the woman was pronounced dead by paramedics on the scene. Police added that they are investigating the "unnatural death".
Facebook user Azmi Suarez who posted pictures of the scene on his page said he was in the midst of playing the mobile game PokemonGo when he chanced upon the sight.
"I wasn't the first person to find it. I was looking on my phone playing the game, then I saw a few people looking into the water," he said, when contacted by Channel NewsAsia.
"I was standing at the jetty and the crowd was looking in the direction of the jetty, so I looked down on the water and saw the dead body."
Just days ago, the body of a 42-year-old female was found floating in Jurong Lake.
