Budget 2021 debate: Lim Biow Chuan on staying financially prudent

Prices of private property in Singapore actually rose last year even amid the country's worst recession. Car showrooms have also been visibly more busy, said MP Lim Biow Chuan, citing friends in the car industry, which led him to remark in Parliament on Friday (Feb 26): "It was as if there was no recession at all, much less the worst recession in Singapore's history." Besides calling on the Government to continue to be fiscally prudent, he urged Singaporeans to be mindful of financial prudence to prepare for uncertain times ahead.
