Budget 2021 debate: Saktiandi Supaat on cost of living, transparency of reserves

The increase in petrol duties would have only a small impact on the inflation rate and the Government has set out a series of support to help offset the hike, MP Saktiandi Supaat said in Parliament on Thursday (Feb 25). He also proposed that the public be allowed to invest in green bonds and other long-term infrastructure-related bonds issued by the Government in a bid to inculcate inclusivity in Singapore's fiscal strategies. With regard to the transparency of Singapore's reserves, he warned against revealing the data of the reserves, citing currency manipulation as a risk.
