SINGAPORE: Real estate company CapitaLand will install six more electric vehicle (EV) charging points by 2016, which will add to the six already available currently.
The six new charging points will be at four new locations: Two each at Star Vista and Westgate and one each at Bedok Mall and the Atrium@Orchard, These are in addition to the charging points at Capital Tower, CapitaGreen, One George Street, Raffles City Singapore and Six Battery Road, it said in its press release on Monday (Aug 31).
In total, CapitaLand will provide 12 of the 47 charging stations available in the country, the press release added.
The EV charging stations will be accessible to all owners of such vehicles, and owners will need to register via the Greenlots mobile app to start using the stations, it said.
"We understand that the availability of charging stations is key to greater adoption of EVs, which help reduce carbon emissions. As property owners, we therefore recognise the instrumental role we can play in helping to make charging infrastructure more accessible,” said Mr Tan Seng Chai, Group Chief Corporate Officer at CapitaLand and Chairman of its Sustainability Steering Committee.
The company added it is looking to make home charging stations available at its upcoming residential developments.
