COE prices end mixed in latest bidding exercise

The premium for Category A cars sees the largest increase, rising from S$45,002 to S$51,301.

SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums ended mixed on Wednesday (Jan 20) in the latest bidding exercise.

For Category A cars, or those 1600cc and below with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, premiums closed at S$51,301, up from S$45,002 in the previous exercise. Premiums for larger and more powerful cars in Category B fell from S$54,920 to S$50,089.

Open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type but end up being used mainly for large cars, decreased to S$51,000, from S$55,089. Motorcycle premiums closed at S$6,512, down from S$6,889 in the last exercise.

COEs for commercial vehicles, which include goods vehicles and buses, rose from S$42,036 to S$46,502.

A total of 6,286 bids were received, with a quota of 3,614 COEs available.
