Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Alex Yam on COVID-19 and Singapore’s place in the world

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to border closures, a resurgence of nationalism and multilateralism taking a back seat, said MP Alex Yam in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). In view of this, he wanted to know how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has ensured the return of Singaporeans from abroad and the continuity of Singapore’s supply chains. Mr Yam also asked about Singapore’s part in the global COVAX initiative to ensure fair access to COVID-19 vaccines.
