Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 4: Tan See Leng on strengthening resilience of migrant workforce

Singapore is fortifying its defences to ensure that migrant workers can return in sufficient numbers to meet economic needs, while minimising the risk of importing COVID-19. A Migrant Worker Onboarding Centre has been set up to pilot an end-to-end onboarding process, including enhanced medical examinations and a settling-in programme. Second Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng told Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 3) that living standards and processes in dormitories will also be improved, along with the provision of primary healthcare and social support networks for workers.
