Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 5: Desmond Lee on 'big push' for City in Nature and greener urban environment

21:55 Min
Singapore will push the boundaries further for sustainability in the built environment sector. It wants 80 per cent of new developments to be Super Low Energy (SLE) buildings from 2030. The Government will take the lead, by building industry capability to develop SLE buildings and provide more cases for the private sector to take reference from. National Development Minister Desmond Lee outlined this key "big push" in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4). Another bold push is to green more urban areas, with new parks to be added, green spaces enhanced and nature trails made more accessible.
