Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 5: Gan Thiam Poh on flood mitigation, tackling global warming

Singapore has experienced more sudden and heavy downpours, and more should be expected in the face of climate change, MP Gan Thiam Poh said in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4). He asked PUB about its plans to mitigate flash floods and surface runoff, and the safety measures for low-lying areas. On rising temperatures, he asked if there was data to show which sectors are the biggest contributors to the urban heat island effect in Singapore.
