SINGAPORE: Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will make a 4-day visit to Astana, Kazakhstan from Monday (Sep 26), said Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
In a press statement issued on Sunday, MFA said ESM Goh’s visit is at the invitation of Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev. This will be ESM Goh’s first visit to the country, added MFA.
During his visit, MFA said ESM Goh will call on President Nazarbayev, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin, and Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Kassym – Jomart Tokayev.
At Chairman Tokayev’s invitation, ESM Goh will also deliver a speech at the Senate of the Parliament, said MFA.
ESM Goh will be accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Amrin Amin and officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry, International Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise.
