Louis Ng on Women's Charter (Amendment) Bill(Updated: )
MP Louis Ng raised concerns about the effectiveness of the proposed changes under the Women's Charter (Amendment) Bill. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Nov 4) during the debate on the Bill, he asked: “Are we addressing only the symptoms of the issue and not the root cause?" Mr Ng urged the Government to look for long-term solutions. He said it can do more to help sex workers “transit out” of the sex industry to other types of work. These include financial planning and counselling.
