SINGAPORE: About 2,400 runners braved the rain on Sunday morning (Nov 27) to participate in this year's one-north Run which raised S$250,000 for local charities.

The run, which is jointly organised by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), JTC and Mediacorp, is in its second year.

This year's edition took participants through various areas in one-north such as Fusionopolis, Biopolis and Mediapolis. Participants signed up for three different categories - the 800m Family Dash, the 5km run and the 10 km run.

However due to bad weather, the 10 km run was cancelled and participants were invited to join the 5 km event.

Proceeds from the run will go to local charities including the Singapore Children's Society, the Asian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA) and the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS).

The CEO of Mediacorp Shaun Seow said: "The run is a wonderful activity for everyone who works here. For Mediacorp's employees and personalities, it's an opportunity to get to know our neighbours better."

Mediacorp is in the process of shifting into it's new campus at one-north and is expected to complete the move in March 2017, according to Mr Seow.
