SINGAPORE: Over 360 million television viewers worldwide have seen the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix, over the past four years.
In a written reply to Parliament, Second Trade and Industry Minister S Iswaran said the night race has also attracted more than 150,000 visitors to the country, in total.
He added that local businesses have also benefited. Every year, over 80 per cent of race organisation works are sub-contracted to Singapore's small and medium enterprises.
Visitors have spent more than S$560 million since the Singapore race started, or an average of over S$140 million each race weekend.
