01:05:49 Min
Singapore's Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has authorised the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for use among children between 12 and 15 years of age, authorities announced on Tuesday (May 18). The country also shifted its vaccination strategy, extending the interval between doses so that more people can receive their first dose sooner. Amid the increase in local COVID-19 cases, likely due to new variants of the coronavirus, health authorities also updated its guidance on masks and recommended that the public wear masks with better filtration capability.
