SINGAPORE: Mediacorp radio station GOLD 905 on Thursday (Feb 18) revealed its refreshed line-up with new pairings and programmes, which will be launched on Monday.

Mike Kasem and Vernetta Lopez will helm the morning show to give listeners a "feel good" start to the day. "I'm happy to be back on the mornings, Mike and I go back a long way and we're great friends," said Vernetta of her return to the morning show.

The station will welcome popular producer-presenter William Xavier - also known as Mr X - who will host the night show, Nite Flite. “It’s a homecoming of sorts... re-connecting with GOLD 905 listeners. Music has always been my first love, but I’m still a news junkie and am happy to bring a topical sensibility to my show,” said Mr X.

As part of the changes, presenter Jamie Yeo will move from the afternoons to Homestretch from 5pm to 8pm.

“We are continuously shaping GOLD 905’s programmes to stay engaged with our audience. I’m confident that our discerning listeners from their 40s will welcome the refreshing 'feel-good' experience these new plans offer," said programming head Erina Cook, adding that from March, viewers will be able to see GOLD 905 on Channel 5 through weekly snippets, giving them a quick guide on popular places to visit and things to do.

Joe Augustin, from The Mike & Joe Xperiment, will leave Mediacorp on Feb 20. Joe re-joined Mediacorp’s Lush 99.5FM in August 2011, moved to Class 95FM in August 2013 and eventually on GOLD 905 in March 2015.

Ms Cook added, “It has been a fulfilling year with Joe on GOLD 905’s morning show and we wish him the very best for the future.”
