SINGAPORE: Ride-hailing company Grab and taxi operator Trans-cab on Thursday (Sep 1) announced a partnership to bring all Trans-cab drivers onto the Grab platform.
This partnership is the ride-hailing firm's first with a taxi operator, the joint news release said, and will see about 7,000 Trans-cab drivers exclusively using the Grab mobile application to accept bookings.
From Thursday, both companies will introduce Trans-cab drivers who are new to Grab to the platform. They will also receive training on how to use the app, as well as subsidised smartphones, according to the release.
“Over the years, we have been hearing positive feedback from our drivers who have benefited from the Grab platform. We want to continue to support our drivers to earn higher incomes and believe that Grab’s technology will bring more ride bookings to our drivers,” said Trans-cab managing director Teo Kiang Ang.
