RIO DE JANEIRO: A total of 28 gold medals will be contested on Day 8 of the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Singaporean athletes to watch out for include badminton's Liang Xiaoyu, who will be up against Delphine Lansac of France at about 835pm (Singapore time) in Group C of the Women's singles competition.
Also competing within the same hour will be rower Saiyidah Aisyah Mohd Rafa’ee in the Single sculls Final D, which will determine 19th to 24th place. Wildcard sprinter Timothee Yap will be also in action, as he makes his Olympic debut in the Men's 100m preliminary rounds.
Singapore's table tennis Women's team meanwhile, will be vying for a spot in the semi-finals, with the trio of Feng Tianwei, Yu Mengyu and Zhou Yihan taking on their South Korean counterparts at 9pm, Singapore time.
Athletics fans however, will likely be looking out for Jamaican superstar Usain Bolt, who will make his first appearance on the Rio track in Heat 1, Round 1 of the Men's 100m sprint at 11pm, Singapore time.
