China's LeEco taps Twitter for global brand expansion

The Chinese tech company will get access to analytics, custom research, advertiser tools and resources from Twitter as part of the partnership.

SINGAPORE: The Chinese tech company LeEco on Thursday (May 12) announced it has entered into a joint business partnership with Twitter to grow its brand presence globally.

According to a press release, LeEco will have access to campaign-based analytics and custom research, strategic advertiser tools and resources, and first-to-market advertiser innovation in 2016.

One such tool will be First View, a video-based advertising product from Twitter. LeEco will be one of the first brands from China to have access to it, the Chinese company said.

"Having seen success using Twitter to power our brand in India, we look forward to expanding our global presence through this partnership with Twitter,” said Mr Brian Hui, head of North America operations at LeEco.

LeEco is led by billionaire entrepreneur Jia Yueting, who was recently in the news for touting the company's electric vehicle ambitions and taking on Tesla Motors. He has also invested in another EV startup Faraday Future.
