Of Indonesia’s 250 million population, around half are eligible to be taxed. But only 27 million are registered tax payers and, of that number, only one million actually pay tax. Indonesia recently passed a new tax amnesty law to recover revenue from previously undisclosed assets and money from offshore accounts.
