Stronger Together

#DontForgetMe

Terrorism around the world has been perpetrated by different kinds of extremist actors, with different ideologies and different methods of attack. But they have the common aim to break down unity, to sow discord and distrust among communities. Regardless of attacker and victim, the result is not only the devastation of lives and frequently, property but potentially, the destruction of community, the shared sense of identity. Here in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic Singapore, if and when we face a terror attack, can we recover from it successfully? Do we have what some other communities have, such as Manchester, Surabaya and Christchurch which have all demonstrated resilience and cohesion in rebuilding after horrific and tragic attacks? What can we learn from them?
