Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Part 2

The train to the northeast of Taiwan offers the most spectacular views of Taiwan.  A stunning stretch of lush green mountains oversees the beautiful ocean.

Biking through the railway tunnel is an excellent way to take in the coastal natural beauty.  No visit is complete without experiencing the famed and tasty Fulong boxed lunches. Despite the simple fare, they have served locals and travellers alike for 50 years.

Preserved here are the unique ecology and geography of the region.  So, come and enjoy the pinnacle of natural beauty on the northeast coast!

As you transverse the winding coastline to reach Wushi Harbour in Yilan, it greets you with its sailing themed architecture.  Lanyang Museum took as long as 20 years to build.  It was inspired by local natural elements such as the cuesta, resembling a giant black rock.  Up close the building, it is truly a unique design.

Our next stop is Turtle Island. A short boat ride of only 10,000 kilometres, this island is a landmark and emblem of Yilan and her spirit.  The magnificent coastal views are worth a visit! So put on your googles and get ready the canoe!

If music is your thing, the sparking Fulong beach is the place to relish the music of the waves. Ready yet?  “Welcome 2 Taiwan” joins you on your adventure to discover northeast Taiwan!
