The problem of skills mismatch has never been more stark, even though Singapore has managed to keep massive unemployment at bay during the COVID-19 pandemic. MP Foo Mee Har, who made this point in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 3), said as Singapore shifts its focus towards recovery, it needs to speed up efforts to help its people move into new jobs and sectors. She said the Government, employers and workers have to join forces to embrace reskilling pathways to address the problem of skills mismatch and seize new job opportunities. She renewed her call for an industry skills training scheme.
