More flexibility is needed to plan land use in Singapore, at a time when adaptation and creativity are essential to respond to changing tastes and market forces, said MP Chong Kee Hiong in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4). He suggested expanding white zones which let developers and owners decide on the eventual usage based on a pre-approved list. He also called for more public involvement to make the final outcomes more socially acceptable and resilient.
