Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 5: Dennis Tan on safe use of park connectors

In Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4), MP Dennis Tan reiterated a call to improve safety for users of park connectors - pedestrians, cyclists and e-scooter riders. He said lane markings as well as enforcement and public education efforts could be improved, especially as more e-scooter riders might use the connectors once Singapore’s expanded cycling network is ready. Mr Tan also spoke about Housing and Development (HDB) blocks deemed ineligible for lift upgrading. He asked HDB to tell affected residents the reasons why upfront - be they cost or technical constraints.
