Schools will be progressively equipped with solar panels over the next decade as part of plans by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to get at least 20 per cent of schools to be carbon-neutral by 2030. It is also working towards a two-thirds reduction of net carbon emissions from the schools sector by 2030. These plans were outlined by Education Minister Lawrence Wong in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4). He said MOE will continue to "green" schools and testbed innovations, so that schools and campuses can become "learning laboratories" for students to see sustainability in practice.
