Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 5: Teo Chee Hean on tackling climate change

19:43 Min
Singapore, as a small low-lying island, is more susceptible to the effects of climate change than larger countries, Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean said in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4). As such, the country must do its best to address climate change, but it still depends on a global collective effort to tackle the issue. On water and food security concerns, he highlighted how Singapore has invested in desalination plants and agri-food technology, and how it has to continue to find ways to grow the economy while taking into account carbon constraints.
