Dennis Tan on Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) (Amendment) Bill(Updated: )
NCMP Dennis Tan spoke in Parliament on Monday (Feb 11) about a Bill to enforce plain packaging of cigarettes. He asked how the Government plans to prevent tobacco companies from trying to skirt the regulations with delaying tactics or by introducing design features to maintain product appeal. He also asked how the changes would gel with the current practice of allowing Singaporeans to bring in cigarettes from abroad by declaring them and paying duties.
