Desmond Lee on conducting and publicising environmental impact assessments(Updated: )
Environmental impact assessments must be carried out for developmental projects near sensitive areas, including those with significant biodiversity. The authorities intend to make EIA findings public unless there are specific reasons not to, such as security considerations. Second Minister for National Development Desmond Lee said this in Parliament on Monday (Feb 11) in response to a question from MP Louis Ng. Mr Ng had asked about releasing the full EIA for upcoming developments in Tengah, where a military training ground is located.
