Edwin Tong on new rules for dealers in precious stones and metals(Updated: )
Strengthening regulation of dealing in gems and precious metals, to boost Singapore's fight against money-laundering and terror financing. That is the aim of a new Bill, detailed in Parliament by Senior Minister of State for Law Edwin Tong on Monday (Feb 11). Under the Bill, retailers, secondhand goods dealers and auction houses have to register with the Law Ministry, and conduct stricter customer due diligence checks.
