Grace Fu on Singapore's commitment towards net-zero carbon target(Updated: )
Singapore has continually reviewed and enhanced its climate targets and preparations. It has put in place a broad-based carbon tax to enable companies to internalise the cost of carbon. It will review the tax trajectory and level post-2023 to reflect the increased urgency for climate action, said Sustainability and the Environment Minister Grace Fu. Speaking in reply to an MP's question in Parliament on Tuesday (May 11), she said how soon Singapore can achieve net-zero emissions will also depend on factors such as global advancement in low-carbon technologies.
