(Updated: )

Singapore wants to contribute more to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which is the main arm of the World Bank Group that lends to developing countries. Second Minister for Finance Indranee Rajah sought approval for this in Parliament on Tuesday (Nov 5). She said it is important for Singapore to do its part as a responsible member of the international community by helping in the efforts of the development institutions to alleviate poverty. The presence of the World Bank Group benefits Singapore and contributes to its growth, she added.
