The Government is stepping up efforts to nurture Singapore's cybersecurity workforce. It is working with industry partners to increase opportunities for Singaporeans to take on cybersecurity roles. Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information Janil Puthucheary said this in reply to an MP's questions in Parliament on Thursday (Oct 15). He said the number of cybersecurity professionals in Singapore in 2019 more than doubled to almost 6,000, compared with 2014. Since 2016, nearly 5,000 Singaporeans have been trained in cybersecurity as part of the TechSkills Accelerator programme.
