Louis Ng on Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Bill(Updated: )
During the debate on the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Bill in Parliament on Tuesday (Jan 5), MP Louis Ng asked if the new Act would cover imitation, replica or ornamental weapons and if so, how that would be enforced. Referring to the appointment of private contractors as licensing compliance officers, he asked for clarification on how they would be supervised in exercising their powers and whether they would be held to the same standard of accountability as public servants.
