Louis Ng on Land Transport (Enforcement Measures) Bill(Updated: )
MP Louis Ng raised some issues for clarification during the debate on the Land Transport (Enforcement Measures) Bill in Parliament on Monday (Sep 10). He asked if authorities can refuse to register a PMD on the basis that the applicant was previously convicted of mobility vehicle-related offences. In addition, given that the person last registered will be treated as the owner, how can owners safeguard themselves against continuing liability. Mr Ng also wanted to know if authorities will review the minimum width of existing and new footpaths to safely accommodate PMD users and pedestrians.
