Ministerial statement: Gan Kim Yong on COVID-19 vaccination situation in Singapore(Updated: )
About 1.8 million people in Singapore have had at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and vaccinations will be progressively extended in smaller age bands, as supplies of the shots are limited. Giving an update in Parliament on Tuesday (May 11), Health Minister Gan Kim Yong said 30 fully vaccinated cases have tested positive for the virus, with most being asymptomatic. 104 people have sought financial aid for serious side effects of the jabs, with 30 meeting the qualifying criteria so far. Singapore is monitoring the spread of emerging variants and will see if its vaccine drive needs adjusting.
