Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim on Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill(Updated: )
Illegal speed trials on the roads have “become a concern”, with more offenders arrested in the past three years, said Minister of State for Home Affairs Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim in Parliament on Tuesday (May 11). So, a Bill proposes increasing the maximum jail terms and fines for such trials. In other changes to improve road safety, it also expands the scope of road rage offences for which a motorist can be disqualified from driving and makes it an offence to ride power-assisted bicycles on the roads without passing a theory test.
