Nepal's women soldiers challenge tradition over cremation rites amid COVID-19 | Video
(Updated: )Cremation in Nepal is traditionally performed by men in Nepal, with women barred from cremation sites and forbidden from touching the bodies. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the Nepalese army was put in charge of cremating the bodies of victims. And now, a group of female soldiers is challenging the cultural taboo of touching dead bodies. Pooja Pant reports.
