The licensing regime for shared e-scooters is similar to that of shared bicycles, save for a requirement to adhere to the UL2272 fire safety standard from the get-go. Potential operators Channel NewsAsia spoke to said it could cost anywhere between S$50,000 and S$100,000 per model. Gwyneth Teo reports.
