Singapore doctor helps refugees in Afghanistan(Updated: )
He excelled academically, studying in Singapore schools like Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) and Raffles Junior College (RJC). Then, he got into National University of Singapore's (NUS) medical school and became a doctor.
But in 2002, Wee Teck Young gave up his comfortable life in Singapore and moved first to Pakistan, then to war-torn Afghanistan, to work with refugees. Now, he runs an NGO working against climate change, inequality and violence.
