African swine fever has killed millions of pigs in China and this has affected those living with heart disease and kidney failure. The blood thinner Heparin is a by-product of pig intestines and is widely used as an anti-coagulant in the world, amid growing concerns of a global shortage. Jagruti Dave reports.
