SINGAPORE — The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) is investigating the death of a cat at Redhill Close. According to a Facebook user, the cat was allegedly thrown down from a HDB unit.
The incident occurred at Block 89 Redhill Close last Saturday (June 11), said Facebook user Fariq Abm. Mr Fariq said the cat suffered a broken leg and a shattered mouth.
Responding to media queries, the AVA said that it is “aware of the case and will be investigating”.
On Monday (June 13), SPCA Singapore issued an appeal for information regarding the incident. The organisation said on its Facebook page that the cat had died by the time the rescue officer had arrived at the scene.
No witnesses have stepped forward so far, said the SPCA, which has an inspector liasing with the AVA on the case.
Eyewitnesses are urged to contact the SPCA’s 24-hour emergency hotline at 6287 5355 or email inspector [at] spca.org.sg.
