SINGAPORE — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s National Day Rally speech on Sunday (Aug 23) will cover issues such as housing, education, families and babies.
In a minute-long video posted on his Facebook page this evening, PM Lee gave a preview of what will take place on Sunday — and that might include some entertainment.
He said: “This National Day Rally, I’ll be looking back the the achievements on our last 50 years, and also the challenges we face looking ahead - looking at ourselves in Singapore, but also looking outwards.
“I’ll be talking about some of the things we want to do together in education, housing and of course also in families and babies.”
And at the end of the video, Mr Lee quipped: “I won’t be singing this year, but someone else will.”
During last year’s rally, Mr Lee sang a line from Xinyao pioneer Liang Wern Fook’s song, Small Stream That Flows Forever.
The National Day Rally will be held this Sunday, from 6.45pm onwards. PM Lee will speak in Mandarin and Malay first, followed by his English speech at 8pm.
