Cheng Li Hui on empowering women

In Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 3), MP Cheng Li Hui welcomed the Workers’ Party’s call to relook laws that ban egg-freezing for non-medical reasons. The long-time advocate said she was glad that this was also recently recommended by the PAP Women’s Wing. However, she disagreed with WP on setting up a not-for-profit national fertility centre. Ms Cheng said Singapore already has three public fertility centres and the waiting time for couples to be treated has fallen considerably.
