Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 6: Don Wee on 'seamless' applications for disadvantaged children

In Parliament on Friday (Mar 5), MP Don Wee proposed a "seamless" application process for disadvantaged children who require financial assistance to attend schools. He said that Social Service Offices' records about their families could be shared with the Ministry of Education and schools. Then children do not need to apply for financial assistance schemes separately. "As a Smart Nation, we can tap upon information technology to make the process easier for all stakeholders using data integration," he said.
