Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 3: Razwana Begum Abdul Rahim on increasing participation in community mediation

Unlike punitive justice, restorative justice and community mediation can not only help to reduce rates of reoffending but also strengthen community bonds. Making this point in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 4), NMP Razwana Begum Abdul Rahim asked what is being done to increase public awareness of and participation in mediation, and whether legal professionals are adequately trained in this area. She also wanted to know what steps are being taken to improve access to justice for the vulnerable.
