MP Desmond Choo has called for more support for young Singaporeans and self-employed persons. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Sep 1), he urged the Government to help the COVID-19 generation get sharper in job mobility. He said companies should be encouraged to convert traineeships into permanent positions after the current nine months. He also suggested providing subsidies and loans for further studies. As for self-employed workers, Mr Choo urged the Government to consider extending targeted support and exploring long-term solutions for income security.
