Dennis Tan on commemorating 200 years of the Singapore Police Force

A lot of police work is not exciting or headline-grabbing but can be mundane, dreary and thankless. Yet it is such “bread-and-butter” community policing that keeps Singapore’s homes and neighbourhoods safe and peaceful, said MP Dennis Tan in Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 3). He spoke of examples he has seen in his constituency of Hougang and thanked police officers for their service. He also said the challenges faced by young police officers who are full-time national servicemen can be daunting and he hopes they are given enough psychological support.
